Description: After obtaining planning consent for the extension and alteration of a residential building designed by another architect, the Client instructed us to carry out the site inspection work, without a detailed design project or specifications to guide the works on site.

The consented project aimed to respect and reinforce the existing pombaline structure in this 4-storey building. Due to the general deterioration of the building, the works eventually included significant demolition and reconstruction.

To fill in the project gaps, technical assistance was also provided on site, ensuring the implementation of the different engineering projects; technical response was needed to resolve issues found during the works, inherent to the refurbishment of an old building; technical documents submitted by the suppliers or contractors were reviewed and architectural details for the apartments and common areas were developed. Following completion, record drawings were produced and submitted to the Client.
