Description: The building is a modest single storey house with an area of about 55m2, located in an urban cluster initially of clandestine character but already legalised, and in the Ria Formosa Natural Park.

As the building is in an area of overlap of several legal urban plans – PDM, Ria Formosa Natural Park, Natura 2000 Park, POOC and polis program – it was decided to instruct a Prior Information Request (PIP) in order to obtain accurate and binding information on the constraints of the work, namely alignments, heights, boundaries and the volumes allowed.

The maximum extension was tested, by extending the construction area to occupy the entire plot of land and adding a new storey. The aim was to achieve a one-bedroom house with an internal courtyard and a terrace over the Ria, by significantly altering the excessive compartmentation of the existing space.
